A Great Read!

December 28, 2005

I was just pointed to The Anchoress’ latest post about both sides of the Congressional aisle. What a refreshing commentary by her neighbor! I sighed about some of the pathos she describes, and I howled about some of the pithy commentary she made:

You people were idiots to get rid of Trent Lott. I mean, his hair was obnoxious, but at least he had balls. This man, Frist, he must take his balls off when he walks into the Senate and leave them in the cloakroom next to Teddy’s flask, or somethin’, because he sure as hell doesn’t bring them into the chambers with him…

I too have been frustrated at the limp-wristed (or should that be limp-Fristed?) behavior of the Republican MAJORITY in the two houses of Congress. You’d think they weren’t in the majority, the way they behave.

The neighbor’s comments match mine in so many ways that I’m afraid I’m turning into a Democrat! Just kidding!

Peter Principle and the Senate

December 20, 2005

Well, we finally have one member of Congress, Sen. Jay Rockerfeller, acknowledging that he’s not competent to do the job he’s been elected to do: “I feel unable to fully evaluate, much less endorse, these activities,” West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller, the Senate Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, said in a handwritten letter to Vice President Dick Cheney in July 2003. “As you know, I am neither a technician nor an attorney.” He forgot to add that he’s unable to demand that the person briefing him explain the matter in simple terms.

It’s hard to add much to that, except to say he’s lying!

A Letter to Murtha

December 11, 2005

The military weblog TigerHawk, posted a link to an open letter from the father of a Marine serving in Iraq to Rep. John Murtha. It is a scathing condemnation of Murtha’s retreat from everything the Marines and every other serviceman and servicewoman stand for. The letter is posted on Marine Corps Moms.

Very well worth the time to read it.

Howard Dean’s Been Kerryfied

December 10, 2005

Howard Dean has begun nuancing his public statements much like John Kerry has done for many years - Kerryfying! It seems all the Defeatocrats are having a hard time finding their backbones. Most of the public comments made by liberal Defeatocrats have been held up for all to see as having no substance, no thought, and no backbone behind them. A little public scrutiny, a little heat and they wither away.

Would you want this kind of people to lead our armed forces? I wouldn’t, and I’ll bet most of the sailors, soldiers, airmen, marines and coast guard wouldn’t either.
